Justin Bieber's girlfriend, Disney star Selena Gomez, supports West Branch teen humiliated by prank

WEST BRANCH, MI — A Facebook page recruited thousands of supporters for Ogemaw Heights High School sophomore Whitney Kropp, but it’s another social media site that highlighted perhaps her highest-profile advocate yet.

Disney star Selena Gomez this afternoon offered a message on Twitter to Kropp, who was humiliated earlier this month after learning classmates voted her on the school’s homecoming court as a prank.

“Congrats Whitney on making homecoming court, you deserve it,” read Gomez’s message, which was accompanied by a link to a CNN report regarding Kropp.

Gomez, 20, is perhaps best known as the former star of the Disney Channel’s “Wizards of Waverly Place” TV show.

The tweet also has the distinction of separating by one degree Kropp from international singing sensation Justin Bieber, who is romantically linked to Gomez.

Kropp's Ogemaw Heights High School classmates "thought it would be funny if the popularity contest was won by someone who was unpopular," The Detroit News reported Monday.

The story's reach quickly spread beyond Michigan.

NBC's Today show featured Kropp in one segment where the 16-year-old said the prank made her feel like a "piece of trash" and led her to consider, "Why be part ... of this world?"

The news crossed an ocean when the United Kingdom's The Daily Mail detailed the younger Kropp's suicidal thoughts.

Closer to home, The Los Angeles Times — the newspaper of choice in the film capital of the planet — seemed to hint at a potential movie deal for the teen: "You couldn't sell Hollywood on Whitney Kropp's story — the fairy tale ending sounds just too good to be true."

Return to MLive today to read continued coverage of Kropp's homecoming night tonight, including what happens at the game.

Justin Bieber’s Mom Shares Singer’s Reaction To Death Of Avalanna Routh

LOS ANGELES, CALIF. -- Justin Bieber was devastated this week when 6-year-old super fan Avalanna Routh (affectionately known as “Mrs. Bieber”) passed away after a long battle with brain cancer.

The pop star’s mom, Pattie Mallette, stopped by Access Hollywood Live on Friday, where she discussed Justin’s reaction to the tragic situation.

“It’s so sad. He was so fond of [Avalanna],” Pattie said of how Justin is handling the loss. “Every time he went to New York he was like, ‘I have to go visit her – I love her so much, Mom.’”

Pattie said Avalanna’s death has been tough for her son to wrap his head around, especially since he had an enormous soft spot for the little girl.

“He would tear up thinking about her and show me videos and things like that,” she shared.

Justin’s desire to help Avalanna is just one example of the singer’s strong character, according to Pattie.

“Of course I’m proud of his success and stuff, but as a mom, I’m most proud of his character and the kind of young man he’s grown to be,” Pattie said, adding that Justin has “always loved little kids [and] babies.”

Pattie — who chronicles her struggles as a young single parent in her new book, “Nowhere but Up” – also shared how faith saved her life after a childhood rife with molestation, substance abuse and a failed suicide attempt.

“I was in the hospital from trying to commit suicide… and I just cried out,” she said. “I said, ‘God, if you are real, you have to come and live this life for me. If you have a plan and a purpose, let’s see it. Let’s see what you can do with my life, because I’m certainly not doing so well.’

“I [felt] this amazing presence that I can’t explain – I was just weeping and saying, ‘Oh my God… you’re real!’” she continued. “And from that moment [it] just switched everything of how I perceived everything and the possibilities were endless [and] the hope for me.”

Pattie’s newfound Christian faith led her to abstain from sex until marriage after Justin was born, though she admitted she’d like to settle down and have more children.

“I’m dating, but there’s nobody serious right now,” she said, adding that Justin is “really protective” when it comes to who is allowed to date his beloved mom. “He definitely wants to have a say and approve.”

Justin Bieber fans swoon after meeting pop star

GLENDALE, Ariz. -
It's the day "beliebers" have been waiting for. Justin Bieber has arrived in the valley.

Saturday he'll kick off his "Believe Tour" at Jobing.Com Arena in Glendale.

All day Justin has been rehearsing and doing sound check, preparing for Saturday night's show. And of course, wherever Bieber goes, his fans follow.

Some of those fans even got to meet him.

The crowd screamed when the pop star showed his face in Glendale today. The 18-year-old superstar showed up on a souped up segway.

"Hitting our hands and hugging us and asking us about the concert and stuff, it's awesome," said Emily Zumwalt.

Some fans were even lucky enough to touch the Biebs.

"I was like oh my God, am I going to faint right now… it was like electricity going through you, he has very soft hands."

11-year-old Emina Bambur even had a heartfelt conversation with him.

"And he started touching my hand and he was like I love you and I was like I love you too and I started crying," said Bambur.

Tears of joy, of course.

"I'm just so happy like right when I saw him I started blasting crying, I'm so happy. Like since the start I even saw his videos before he even became famous."

In matching t-shirts and Justin Bieber hair bows, Bambur waited for Justin with her big sister, but she did miss a day of school.

"I begged my parents if I could skip school to at least see him cause I would skip school for a week just to see him for a minute."

And it was worth it.

"I'm just so happy that I actually got to meet him like I would never imagine that," says Bambur.

The concert starts at 7 p.m. Saturday night right at Jobing.Com. His girlfriend Selena Gomez will be visiting on the tour.

Justin Bieber has been scalping his own tickets, says Nashville TV station

Hey Justin Bieber fans in Tennessee, did you have trouble scoring tickets to your boy’s upcoming show? You’re not alone.

According to documents obtained by Nashville’s NewsChannel 5, of the nearly 14,000 tickets available for Bieber’s forthcoming show at the city’s Bridgestone Arena, only 1,001 — or roughly 7% of the total — were actually allocated for sale to the general public.

So where did the rest of the tickets go? That’s where the information gets pretty damning. About 6,000 were held for American Express customers, who had access during a special pre-sale. Another 3,000 were held for members of Bieber’s fan club, who pay a fee for the opportunity to buy those seats. 500 went to Ticketmaster’s “Platinum Exchange” program, and another 900 were chopped up for various VIP packages.

But the smokingest gun is this: An entire block of seats was reserved for Bieber’s tour, and some of those tickets are currently available on resale site TicketsNow for $216 each.

The bottom line is that not only are only seven percent of the available tickets available for actual face value, but the Bieber camp is actually scalping his own ducats.

He’s not alone: The station also found documents that noted that a Taylor Swift show at the same venue only left 1,600 tickets available to the general public, and a Keith Urban show that promised $20 seats only had 389 of those available.

On the one hand, artists, ticketing companies, and promoters are all trying to make money that would otherwise go to scalpers, who often cut into an artist’s bottom line. On the other hand, these practices are as fan-unfriendly as simply giving the tickets to scalpers, as they are lead to believe that they have fair access to something that they actually do not.

According to the former head of consumer affairs for the state of Tennessee Elizabeth Owen, these ticketing practices are in violation of a law on the books in that state that was established to protect ticket-buyers back in 1977, though it’s unclear whether or not any action will be taken.

Bieber’s tour with Carly Rae Jepsen kicks off Saturday night at the Jobing.com Arena in Glendale, Arizona.

What do you think? Should artists have the right to move the tickets to their own shows as they see fit, or is this a practice that should be cracked down on?

Justin Bieber on 'Dancing With the Stars' as a contestant? 'Maybe,' says Joey Fatone

Justin Bieber performed his new hit single, "As Long As You Love Me," on Tuesday's (Sept. 25) "Dancing With the Stars: All-Stars" results show">results show, showing off some hip-hop dance moves (including a crotch grab!) and making the girls in the audience swoon.

So did it remind former 'N Sync boy bander Joey Fatone of the good ol' days?

"It makes me laugh," the Season 4 runner-up told reporters later. "I'm happy that I'm not doing it right now!

Could the Biebs ending up in his "Dancing" shoes someday?

"Maybe," laughed Fatone. "You never think that. [At the height of your career you think], 'I'm going to go on forever, I'm not going to do anything like 'Dancing With the Stars' -- and I'm back for another season of torture!"

If Fatone first competed on "DWTS" when he was 30, and Bieber's now 18, could the "Baby" singer be competing on the ballroom in a dozen years?

Beliebe it...or not?

"My parents split at an early age . . . then I started getting sexually abused starting at age 4. And there was some ongoing abuse up until I was about 10 years old," Bieber's mother explained. "It really skewed my view of men, sex . . . everything pure."

Mallette lost her virginity at age 15 and became pregnant with Justin at 17.

Justin Bieber mourns 6-year-old cancer victim Avalanna, his 'angel'

Justin Bieber has turned to Twitter to express his sorrow over the death of Avalanna Routh -- a 6-year-old who was one of his biggest fans and became a Web sensation, dubbed "Mrs. Bieber," because of her love for the pop star.

Bieber, 18, typically uses his Twitter account to promote upcoming performances, or his new "Believe" album, or to retweet the likes of Kim Kardashian and members of his Bieber Army. But Bieber's most recent tweets to his more than 28 million followers tell a different story -- underscoring just how hard-hit he was by news of the death of the little girl from Merrimac, Mass.

Avalanna was suffering from atypical teratoid rhabdoid tumor -- a rare cancer typically referred to as AT/RT. She was smitten by anything related to Bieber, so much so that the staff at the Dana-Farber/Children’s Hospital Cancer Center threw Avalanna a wedding -- to Bieber -- last year. There was cake, flowers, a singer.

Soon, there was a Facebook page, "Get Avalanna to Meet Justin Bieber." It caught the attention of the pop star, who met and became friends with the little girl who then earned the nickname Mrs. Bieber.

Wednesday night, Bieber was tweeting congrats to singer Carly Rae Jepson over her new album, plus thanks to his Japanese fans. Moments later came another tweet -- and several after that -- that struck a starkly different chord (and might have made those who considered him just another self-absorbed pop star to rethink their opinion).

-- "just got the worst news ever. one of the greatest spirits i have ever known is gone. please pray for her family and for her."

One Direction beats Justin Bieber’s video record; fans wait for new album

One Direction and Justin Bieber seem to have a healthy competition when it comes to music fans. The two popular entertainers are always being compared and are even known to be friends. The friendship might be strained a bit after the latest figures as One Direction apparently has beaten Justin Bieber with the 24-hour record of the most views of a video. On Wednesday Vevo released figures showing Live While We're Young broke serious records

“After counting the @VEVO numbers, happy to say @OneDirection broke Bieber's 24hr record w/ 8.24M views!! #1DVEVOrecord,” tweeted Vevo from the official Twitter account on Wednesday.

The number are staggering, even if it didn’t beat records. For fans to be watching a video 8,240,000 times in 24-hours is almost unbelievable. As the music times have changed, this type of audience wouldn’t have been possible 10 years ago or even five years ago. The Internet has allowed people to be involved with music immediately upon release and the industry can release the video around the world at the same time.

One Direction definitely is proving that the world is getting smaller and the fans of the band are absolutely everywhere! Which is why the music business is bracing for the release of the new album. Fans can barely wait to buy the music and can barely wait for the release of the next album which is less than three days away.

Will Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber's Relationship Survive His 'Believe' Tour?

Justin Bieber will soon embark on his Believe concert tour. Will his and Selena Gomez's relationship survive the time and distance apart? They have just a few days left, as Justin leaves on tour September 29th.

According to a report from Hollywood Life, a relationship expert weighs in on some tips to keep Justin and Selena happy and their relationship happy, even though they're not physically together.

"As Justin Bieber leaves on his world tour, he and Selena must be conscious of the wear and tear long distance over long periods of time have on their relationship. These two are accustomed to being apart, but have been able to rendezvous from time to time to keep the spark alive. This may be a bit more difficult given how far and how long he will be traveling," Dr. Phil Denbo says.

The doctor has some excellent suggestions, however, for ways Justin and Selena--or anyone else enduring a long distance relationship for a while--to help endure their separation.

"The two need to create and commit to rituals. They need to video chat the same time each day if possible, have virtual dates and spend time alone virtually when possible. If they rendezvous, they need to make the best of the time together. And most of all, stay committed to one another."

The expert issues a warning to the "Love You Like A Love Song" singer and her man going out on tour.

"The loneliness can lead to the arms of someone else, destroying the trust and commitment they have that protects their love. Justin and Selena, take a lesson from Kristen [Stewart] and Rob [Pattinson,]" Dr. Denbo says.

Do you think Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez have what it takes to withstand this time away from one another? Will their relationship be intact when Justin comes home? Justin and Selena used to make surprise trips to visit one another when one or both of them went on tour, but now with Selena's acting career in full bloom, it's uncertain whether she'll have that kind of availability.

Hopefully Justin and Selena create their own plan to keep in close contact with one another. You don't think the same thing could happen to these two that happened to Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, do you?

It really seems like that's a long shot.

Justin Bieber steals the show with 'DWTS' performance -- VIDEO

Leave it to Justin Bieber to save the day. The superstar blasted through a glitzy silver barricade in a leather jumpsuit to resuscitate last night’s otherwise uneventful Dancing With the Stars: All Stars results show.

Bieber even overshadowed Pitbull’s party-popping, glow stick fest with his ”As Long As You Love Me” performance. Aside from the fact that Biebs resembled ”The Leather Man” from one of my favorite SNL skits, the pop sensation reminded me of Justin Timberlake circa 1998 with his shockingly smooth dance moves. The performance got even better when he took off his bedazzled leather vest. Sure, it left me staring at his scrawny arms, but it made the outfit look slightly less ridiculous.

The song, which is the latest iTunes chart-topping single off his new album Believe, is also extremely catchy. ”As long as you love me/ We could be starving, we could be homeless, we could be broke/ As long as you love me/ I’ll be your platinum, I’ll be your silver, I’ll be your gold.”

All I can say is that Selena Gomez is one lucky lady. Watching Bieber perform could have easily served as eliminated all-star Pamela Anderson’s consolation prize.

The Believe Tour kicks off this Saturday in Glendale, Ariz.

Justin Bieber Scalps His Own Fans on Believe Tour Tickets

Justin Bieber claims he values his fans more than anything, but he routinely scalps his “Beliebers” on tickets to his concerts, forcing them to pay a huge mark-up for seats. His management team, and apparently, he gets a cut of the profits.

The practice is highly controversial. Artists such as Green Day, Tom Waits, the Dixie Chicks, John Mayer, Maroon 5 and U-2 are vehemently against scalping fans. But Bieber isn’t alone.

Katy Perry also includes a rider in her concert contract that sets aside a block of tickets that she can sell on the secondary market at a huge mark-up, in effect double- or triple-dipping her fans.

Phil Williams, chief investigative reporter for NewsChannel 5 in Nashville, Tenn, discovered that members of Bieber’s management were withholding tickets from the public on Justin’s Believe Tour and selling them on the secondary market for a huge mark-up.

Tickets for Justin’s entire U.S. tour sold out in just one hour, but seats at several shows were never made available to the general public at regular mark up, according to Williams.

Katy Perry Shock: She Scalps Fans!

At the 14,000-seat show at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena, only 1,001 tickets were sold to the general public. American Express claimed 6,000 tickets for pre-sale to its customers and 3,000 tickets were reserved for fan club members. Another 500 tickets were sold at a huge mark-up through Ticketmaster’s Platinum Exchange program and 900 tickets were reserved for VIPs.

Setting aside a huge block of tickets for pre-sale and fan clubs ultimately benefits scalpers who sell the tickets for inflated prices on re-sale sites. Fan club members can buy up to four tickets in four different cities. Typically the extra tickets end up in the hands of scalpers, according to the report.

Willams found Nashville tickets reserved for Bieber’s management for sale on Internet sites like TicketsNow for $216 to $246.

Taylor Swift also scammed her fans at her Sept. 2009 show at Bridgestone Arena, according to Williams. Only 1,610 seats were sold to the general public, the rest 11,720 seats went to insiders, scalpers and VIPs.

Not all young artists are greedy. Miley Cyrus cried out against the practice when she learned back in 2007 that some of her concert tickets were being resold for $2,500. She was only 14 at the time and urged fans not to buy them on Ellen DeGeneres.

Bieber’s Nov. 30 show at Madison Square Garden is already sold out, but tickets are available on the secondary market ranging from $125 to $700, about seven times the face value, according to U.S. News and World Report.

'Mrs. Justin Bieber' Avalanna Routh Dies

Justin Bieber’s popular young fan Avalanna Routh, the adorable little six-year-old girl that called herself “Mrs. Justin Bieber”, has lost her battle with cancer.

Avalanna passed away of a rare form of brain cancer Wednesday morning.

Her parents took to Twitter announce the sad news to their daughter’s followers, writing, “Our darling Avalanna went to Heaven this morning. Oh Avalanna, the brightest star – you took our hearts with you, our greatest Love.”

Routh made headlines in February 2012 when she “married” her teen idol, Justin Bieber, in a fake wedding in New York.

Avalanna was so infatuated with the singer that her nurses organized the pretend wedding, where Avalanna tied the knot with a cardboard cutout of Bieber.

Justin learned about the young girl after her family started a “Get Avalanna to Meet Justin Bieber” campaign on Facebook and Twitter, using the hashtag, #MrsBieber.

Bieber flew his cancer-stricken young fan and her mother to New York for an early Valentine’s Day date, where they played board games and munched on cupcakes and candy.

The teen star later tweeted about the meeting, writing, “That was one of the best things I have ever done. She was awesome!”

Justin Bieber winning joust with Joustin’ Beaver game creator

Pop star Justin Bieber won a round in his legal joust with RC3, a maker of mobile apps that created a game parodying the singer’s life. Joustin’ Beaver has been out for a while, prompting the singer to sue for trademark and publicity right claims in February.

RC3 countersued in Jacksonville, Fla., that it had a right to make fun of the singer on First Amendment grounds. After all, if Billy Crystal can make fun of celebrities at the Oscars, why can’t RC3 do the same in an app? Bieber’s attorneys have issued a cease-and-desist letter asking the company to pull the app from the Google Play and iTunes App Store.

In its lawsuit, RC3 said that the game was inspired by Biebermania. In the app, a beaver floats down a river. The cartoon character has long bangs like Bieber, and it has a lance and a purple sweater. The beaver takes out paparazzi-like Phot-Hogs that are trying to take his photo. The beaver also has to sign “ottergraphs” for onlookers, and it also has to dodge the “whirlpool of success.”

RC3 was trying to get the judge to sign off on a declaration of noninfringement. But U.S. District Court Judge Roy Dalton dismissed RC3′s complaint because Bieber doesn’t live in Florida. If RC3 has to file in another venue, it will likely make the lawsuit more expensive for the company.

Justin Bieber Did NOT Give Sean Kingston His Fisker…He Was Only Borrowing It!

Well, this is awkward.

Sean Kingston recently told the paparazzi that Justin Bieber gifted him that fly chrome Fisker he was driving around Hollywood over the weekend.

As it turns out, that couldn't be further from the truth!

Despite all of the name dropping about Bieber being his "best friend" who lavishes him with "all kinds of gifts", Kingston had only BORROWED the car.

We're a little confused as to why he would claim ownership of the vehicle, especially when it's one of the favorite targets of the paparazzi. It's not like they wouldn't see Bieber driving it again eventually!

We'll go ahead and assume that Kingston wanted to impress the pretty girl he was taking out on a date that night.

Here's a tip fellas: Just be yourself! Unless you're a liar who pretends to receive excessively generous gifts from your famous friends…

If that's the case, we guess you can just pretend you were "joking" about that completely fabricated story, which is exactly what Kingston is doing.
It was just a goof, guys!

JUSTIN BIEBER PERFORMS ‘AS LONG AS YOU LOVE ME ON ‘DANCING WITH THE STARS’

Justin Bieber got leathered up on perform his latest smash ‘As Long as You Love Me’ on tonight’s (Sept. 25) results episode of ‘Dancing With the Stars.’ He was dressed head to toe in black leather, but it wasn’t quite as dominatrix as that description might sound. He wore a leather vest, leather tunic and leather trousers. Yes, a lot of cowhide, but he looked good and was styled appropriately, because that could have been a big ol’ mess.

It was certainly a different performance of the song. For one thing, it was truncated, as the Big Sean rap part was cut altogether, as opposed to performed by the Biebs or improvised.

It also felt lip synced, since the teen’s vocals were a bit off. That’s not uncommon, nor is it a criticism, so ease up, Beliebers. We’re not blaspheming your boy, since he’s our boy, too! The song’s choreography is intense, and since we already know the lyrics and how it sounds, we’re more interested in the dancing that accompanies it — especially because it’s a dancing show!

Most importantly, though, is the fact that this is one of the first times the Biebs has truly looked like an adult and a man. We’ve been saying that he is a man — at least in theory — since he turned 18 in back in March, but once he tossed off the vest, mid-routine, he looked it.

The perf ended with an aerial view of a heart on the stage, which was another cool, unexpected touch.

No disrespect to the competitors, especially since this is an all-star season of ‘DWTS,’ but the biggest star doing any dancing on that stage was the J to the B.

Selena Gomez Wanted To Invent 'Cool' Voice For 'Hotel Transylvania'

Actress opens up to MTV News about playing her character, Mavis, in the new animated film, out this week.

Selena Gomez spent years casting spells as the star of "The Wizards of Waverly Place" on Disney. And after taking a break from supernatural roles, the actress returns to those roots this week as a teen vampire in the new animated flick, "Hotel Transylvania."

And, she went into filming hoping she could dream up a new voice for the part, but was disappointed to find out that she would sound like herself in the family-friendly movie.

"No, I attempted [a voice] and failed," she told MTV News during the Toronto International Film Festival, where she premiered the flick. "I tried when I got the script, I was like 'Oh maybe I can do something cool and different.' And I ended up going in, and they were like 'No, we like your voice best.' I was like 'Oh, all right'."

However, despite showing off a pretty impressive Scottish accent during the interview, she confessed, "Well, I don't think I can [do any voices]. That's the sad part."

Gomez joined the flick earlier this year; her role was originally intended for fellow former Disney star Miley Cyrus. In it, she plays Dracula's (Adam Sandler) teenage daughter. The film imagines the famed vamp as a hotel owner who caters to other mystical folks. When the home away from home is discovered by a human boy, who also happens to fall for Gomez's Mavis, well it has Dracula freaking out a little bit.

It opens on Friday. It also stars Andy Samberg, Kevin James, Fran Drescher, Steve Buscemi, Molly Shannon, David Spade, Cee Lo Green and Jon Lovitz.

What accent would sound good on Mavis? Let us know in the comments!

Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber spotted kissing on Knott's Berry Farm date

Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber aren’t having any relationship problems, unless the paparazzi wants to make something up. While Selena Gomez has been responsible for publicity of her new movie Hotel Transylvania, it hasn’t been all work and no play for the actress. After being seen leaving in a vehicle with Justin Bieber on Saturday, people should have been checking all the major theme parks in the Los Angeles area as the couple was out having some fun.

With pictures as proof, the couple was spotted at the Knott's Berry Farm where the annual Knott's 40th Haunt event is in full swing. With ghoulish features that could scare anyone, the two were seen holding hands and enjoying time away from the busy life that both have with their careers. Of course there was a little passion too as one of the photos show the two hugging and Justin giving Selena a kiss on the cheek.

While the relationship of the two continue to make the news, it’s funny how the two stars can slip away and not even be noticed for a couple of hours at one of the biggest attractions in Southern California. Of course in the end people did find the couple went to the park, but not until after the two had a great time spending private time together.

'Dancing with the Stars': Justin Bieber, Pitbull to appear

Monday night not only marked the season premiere for "Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars," but it gave us an opportunity to also find out who are going to be some of the first people to perform on the results show this year.

Based on the caliber of names unveiled by ABC, it does look as though the network is holding nothing back. Host Tom Bergeron announced Monday that not only will rapper Pitbull be giving a performance on the show, but so will one of the youngest superstars on the planet in Justin Bieber. This is the second time that the "As Long As You Love Me" singer has performed on the show, as he was joined by Boyz II Men to perform some Christmas music last fall.

During this episode, we will also witness the first elimination of the season. Who will go home? We will find out in just 24 hours.

Which of these two performers are you the most excited to see on the show Tuesday night? If you want to check out some more of the latest "Dancing with the Stars" news, you can do so by checking out the story over at the link here.

Justin Bieber feeling played by game

We all know Justin Bieber is a brand, not a person, and he will be chewed up and spit out like so many before him. But for now, his product is closely guarded and regulated. So when mobile app company RC3 released a game called “Joustin’ Beaver,” they soon received a cease and desist notice from his legal team.

Though the company is claiming its First Amendment “parody” rights, the Biebopoly just might have a good case.

First, there’s the beaver in question, which has swept bangs, dreamy eyes and no pants on — just like Bieber. The beaver maneuvers himself down a river through the “whirlpool of success.” He’s in a purple sweater and on a log and holding a lance, avoiding “phot-hogs” paparrazzi and signing “ottergraphs” along the way.

Trademark infringement, anyone?

RC3 filed a pre-emptive lawsuit in Florida before the Bieb machine could file theirs, but a judge ruled that RC3 “cannot exercise specific jurisdiction over Bieber.” In other words, find another venue since he’s from Canada.

Things could be worse for him: “Joustin’ Beaver” could’ve been a porno.

Justin Bieber Gives Paparazzi-Escape Car to Sean Kingston

It looks like Justin Bieber is doing whatever's necessary to stay out of trouble.

The pop singer, who had a run-in with authorities for reckless driving after having a paparazzi chase, has apparently gifted his speedy—and pricey—Fisker Karma sports car to Sean Kingston!

E! News caught Kingston driving the chrome luxury electric vehicle outside BOA Steakhouse in Los Angeles Sunday night, and the Jamaican-American rapper told us that the Biebs was feeling quite generous with his car.

"When you're best friends with one of the biggest pop stars in the world, you get all kinds of gifts," Kingston said. "This is one of them."

You might remember that Biebs received the flashy ride as a gift from his manager Scooter Braun as a surprise for his 18th birthday. But did the Biebermobile, which has a sticker price north of $100,000, have too much horsepower for the young star?

Nah. Kingston tells us that the Biebs will be getting the newest model of the Fisker Karma soon.

Meanwhile, the paparazzo who tried to keep up with Bieber during that epic freeway chase is due in court later today on criminal charges, while Bieber is set to join Pitbull for a performance on tonight's premiere episode of Dancing WIth the Stars.

Pattie Mallette, Justin Bieber's Mom, Writes Of Painful Past

NEW YORK — Pattie Mallette was 18, living in a home for pregnant girls after years of unrelenting sex abuse and depression when she gave birth to a boy she thought she'd name Jesse, a boy whose first cry sounded like a song.

Well, the baby seemed more like a Justin after he popped out. And his last name isn't Mallette.

It's Bieber.

You'd have to be firmly under a rock not to know at least a little bit about Justin Bieber's YouTube-to-riches story, his loyal fan base of Beliebers, 28 million Twitter followers or the hordes of screaming girls who pack his tours.

What you probably don't know are his mother's struggles, starting with the painful divorce of her parents, through years of emotional turmoil and hard partying that made school a blur, and her eventual turn to God after a suicide attempt about six months before Justin was conceived.

Mallette, 37, has laid bare her past in a new book, "Nowhere but Up: The story of Justin Bieber's Mom," out recently from the inspirational publisher Revell. It's a powerful, plainspoken story, written in collaboration with A.J. Gregory, a mother herself. A portion of proceeds have been promised to shelters like the one that harbored Mallette in Canada when her mother kicked her out of the house after she got pregnant.

Her troubles began well before that, however, and Mallette has forgotten little.

"Writing the book was part of my healing process," she said in an interview. "Just having to relive things as I'm writing it down. There are parts that are still painful to go over."

She was 2 when she watched her alcoholic, abusive father walk out the door and about 3 when she was first sexually abused by someone she knew. Mallette doesn't identify her numerous molesters, including a male baby sitter and the grandfather of a friend, but the last words of her book's acknowledgments speak volumes. "To my abusers: I forgive you."

Justin Bieber Performs “As Long As You Love Me” Acoustically (Including Big Sean’s Rap)

Justin Bieber‘s Believe track “As Long As You Love Me” is so production-heavy, it’s hard to even imagine that an acoustic version is possible. And yet, here it is. While so many other music acts were busy at the iHeartRadio Music Festival, Justin was overseas in the UK performing this tune for Daybreak.

The track works surprisingly well as an acoustic song, and who needs a featured rapper when you’re the Biebs? Justin takes Big Sean‘s rap into his own capable hands — and we also have to give him props for handling those high “la la la la la”s without any trickery.

How does “As Long As You Love Me” work as an acoustic track? Let us know on Facebook or Twitter!

Will.i.am Song Featuring Justin Bieber Hits Internet (LISTEN)

Justin Bieber fans, get excited, but not too excited. A new song from Will.i.am's upcoming "#willpower" album featuring the teen pop sensation has leaked on the internet. While Bieber does indeed sing on the track -- "You and me together/ Forever" is his only line -- his contribution is minimal, leaving more room for the Black Eyed Peas rapper's curious lyrics, like "Make it nasty/ Make it nasty" and "Make it juicy/ Make it juicy."

No word on the actual release date of Will.i.am's fourth studio album, which was recently pushed back from Oct. 15 due to a slew of leaked songs such as this one. The album also features collaborations with Britney Spears, Chris Brown and David Guetta.

What do you think of "You and Me," readers? Take a listen above.

Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez look adorable at 'Hotel Transylvania' premiere

Contrary to popular belief, Justin Bieber was at the Saturday screening of the Selena Gomez movie "Hotel Transylvania." The couple ducked out the back door of The Grove, after the screening. The couple held hands as they made their way to the van, and were captured on film by eager photographers. Looking elegant in a metallic and white dress, Selena Gomez took our breath away.

It seems that Justin might have been held up in traffic, causing many to comment on his missing in action status for the red carpet event in Los Angeles. Bieber took time to tweet a photo of himself to the fans, posting: "Stuck on the damn highway." Everyone knows those LA freeways can be a gnarly mess especially if you want to get somewhere fast. Selena was busy on the red carpet of her movie premiere - but the two were together at the event as the video to the left reflects.

It is adorable how the two seem to protect each other and the young lovebirds have certainly found a way to make time to be together, despite a hectic lifestyle. Word on the street is that the two are building a love nest together in California. Selena just bought her first home last month, and with her movie career heating up - the sky is the limit for these two young stars.

Justin Bieber tops Billboard's '21 Under 21' list: Most overrated under-21 stars?

Justin Bieber is the "hottest minor" under 21, according to Billboard.com's annual "21 Under 21" list.

Really?

We know he's had two #1 albums over the past 12 months, but think fast: Do you know any of his songs other than "Baby"?

The Biebs' "girlfriend" Selena Gomez ranks five slots below him, in sixth place, but he'd better look out -- with a new perfume and more grownup movies on the way, Selena's star is on the rise.

SODAHEAD SLIDESHOW: See the most overrated under-21 star?

Meanwhile, One Direction is hot on Bieber's heels in second place, after recently winning Best New Artist at MTV's Video Music Awards. But they kind of sound like every other boy band to us ... meanwhile, Miley Cyrus ranks all the way down at #18 -- maybe thanks to that (frightening) haircut?

From Bieber to Selena to Miley, let us know: Who is the most overrated "Under 21" star?

However, it seems like all you Beliebers out there may be a little disappointed with the lack of Biebs on the track...

One fan posted: “Really!? He should’ve at least had a rap. Like a short rap. He’s just saying ‘you and me together forever.’ Honestly, he should’ve had a little more.”

While another said: “I wish Justin said more than ‘you and me together forever.’ But I still think it’s a good song :)”

Meanwhile, although the singer may be hanging out with party anmal Will.i.am, it seems like he's still keen to please his mum and has now drawn up a 'sobriety contract' until he's 21.

An insider has revealed all to Now Magazine, saying: "Justin's had a pledge drawn up by his attorney vowing not to touch alcohol until he turns 21 and gave it to his mum, copying in his mentor Usher"

"He's always been allowed to come and go as he pleases, but he was worried that stories he's been seen drinking would prompt Pattie to clamp down."

Good on you, Biebs! We love a Mummy's boy...

Options Media CEO resigns as Justin Bieber marketing deal flops

Scott Frohman resigned as CEO and director of Options Media Group Holdings after the company’s marketing deal with pop star Justin Bieber failed to generate significant sales.

The Boca Raton-based company (Pink Sheets: OPMG) made headlines in May 2011 by signing a deal with Bieber to endorse its PhoneGuard, an application that prevents cellphones from texting and using other distracting functions while driving, in exchange for warrants to purchase 121.2 million shares of the company for a penny each. That deal was later revised to 242.3 million shares at a half-penny a share.

That might sound like a discount, but shares of Options Media were trading at nine-hundredths of a cent on Friday morning.

Despite Bieber’s endorsement of PhoneGuard, its sales are anemic. Options Media lost $3.9 million on revenue of $1,333 in the first six months of 2012. In fact, the company’s sales of PhoneGuard in the year ago period – when the Bieber deal was in place for just one of those six months – were higher, at $24,519.

As of June 30, the company had $1 million in assets, versus $8.4 million in liabilities. Its liabilities included nearly $2 million in accounts payable and accrued expenses.

The company has been issuing stock in private placements to cover its cash needs.
According to a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filing, Frohman resigned Sept. 10. It is not clear who is leading the show at Options Media now.

The company’s website says that The Zimmerman Agency handles Options Media’s press inquiries, but a representative at the agency said it no longer represents the company. The contact number for Chairman Keith St. Clair at the bottom of Options Media’s latest press release, dated Aug. 22, wasn’t accepting messages.

For a company that specializes in cellphone applications, that’s a little odd.

South Korean rapper PSY says Justin Bieber is envious of Gangnam dance

South Korean rapper PSY has revealed that Justin Bieber has been hankering for him to teach him the famous Gangnam Style horse ride dance.

The eccentric prancer says Usher is jumping on the bandwagon too after the shady 34-year-old taught Britney Spears the moves on US TV.

After his routine clocked up over an astonishing 221million YouTube views, Psy revealed: ‘Justin told me he’s already good at dancing my dance. I teach it Usher last weekend. He was good at it. You can imagine.’

As for Britney’s attempts at his bronco style on the Ellen DeGeneres show, he said: ‘She wore such a tight dress so she didn’t dance as usual. She’s got to have another chance I think. This is the point of the Gangnam Style - dress classy and dance cheesy.’

After 12 years of bouncing around bow-legged back home, the star says his Gangnam Style is finally set to sweep our nation.
The shady singer told Radio 1: ‘This is my sixth album. In Korea this is not even a shock. People don’t recognise me without sunglasses yet. I can’t take off the sunglasses all day long.
‘I’ve ranked at 11 on Billboard today. That’s the reason I cannot sleep tonight. If I have number one in UK. I promise I’ll be there as soon as I can.
Explaining to fans how Gangnam Style is meant to be done, he said: ‘The move is not serious but your face has got to be serious. That’s the point.’
‘The point of this dance is horse riding dance. When you dance you’ve got to think you’re riding an invisible horse in your lower body.’

New Picture: Justin Bieber's Shirtless Boxing

Justin Bieber and Ryan Good aren't exactly prize fighters, but they sure pretended like it on Twitter today. The Biebs retweeted a shot of the pals pretend fighting in what looked like a hotel room or some other fancy spot Thursday.

In the shot, Biebs is shirtless and wearing boxing gloves and is swinging back to take a shot at his pal, who's wearing white jeans and a white T-shirt. It didn't exactly seem like the guys were having a real match, much like how Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. have yet to meet in the ring for real. Still, "Mayweather v. pacquiao" Good tweeted.

We're glad to see the singing sensation get some fun in during his super busy schedule. He's been rehearsing like crazy to go on tour in just nine days and probably could use a break and a punching bag! Still, Bieber is young and loves what he does, so he's probably actually having a great time prepping for his big worldwide tour.

Are you going to a stop on the Believe tour? Or all of them? Sound off in the comments!

Justin Bieber focused on 'Believe' tour rehearsals: ‘Another big rehearsal day’

Justin Bieber is getting ready for what is expected to be the biggest concert tour of his career. Putting plenty of time and focus into making it perfect, it seems that Thursday is another day of rehearsals for the upcoming tour. Giving details to the fans, it appears the star is finalizing the presentation and is almost ready to hit the stage to share a perfect show.

“Another big rehearsal day!! @jonmchu let's do it #BELIEVEtour,” tweeted Justin Bieber from his official Twitter account. Being focused on doing his best, he followed up the news with his focus of the day sharing that the expectation was to “be great.”

Putting together a big concert production can’t be easy. In addition to singing and dancing, Justin Bieber hopes to give his fans an experience that they will take home and remember forever. While that sounds easy, there is plenty of work that goes into a perfect show.

With all of Justin Bieber’s crew working hard to be flawless, there isn’t any doubt the fans will be pleasantly surprised at how the concert comes together for a night of entertainment.

Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez Marriage Rumors Circulating Again

You can't judge a book by its cover, but for Selena Gomez, it's a book cover that's stirring up more marriage rumors about her and boyfriend Justin Bieber.

Celebuzz reports that Gomez was seen toting the book "The 5 Languages of Love: The Secret to Love That Lasts" with her as she exited a salon on Tuesday.

The Amazon description of the book, by best-selling author Gary Chapman, says it's aimed at married couples and claims couples who read it can "build a lasting, loving marriage together."

Bieber and Gomez have been together for almost two years, but despite persistent rumors, the young couple has always been quick to deny an engagement.

Given that, we're guessing this marriage rumor is false. But let us know in the comments, do you think Justin and Selena will tie the knot?

Justin Bieber's Mom Has Been Celibate For 16 Years

Justin Bieber's mom hasn't had sex in 16 years.

Pattie Mallette was 21 when she vowed not to have sex again until she was married.

Now 37, the famous mom, who was 19 when Bieber was born, says, "I take that vow really seriously. I remember when I made it. I wrote it down on a piece of paper and I had someone witness it. It means a lot. I made it this far. I'm not stopping now."

In a pre-taped TV interview with Ellen DeGeneres, which airs in America on Tuesday, Mallett reveals she isn't even dating at present, telling the host, "I told Justin I would focus on him and would wait until he was 18 before I started dating... He just turned 18."

Making light of her guest's love life, DeGeneres offered Mallette a six month subscription to dating website Match.com.

New Picture: Is Justin Bieber Sad On His Tour Bus?

Justin Bieber has been doing nothing but rehearsing for his upcoming Believe tour lately. In fact, he's been practicing and working so much that he got sick last week.

He explained the illness on Twitter: "All the travel and the body finally broke down. Soo sick. Just gonna chill."

But, days later he was back to the grind, even doing a full-out concert rehearsal yesterday. In 10 short days, he'll officially hit the road for the epic tour. While he's not actually going to start performing for another week, he was already stuck in his tour bus today.

The star tweeted a picture of himself with the caption "#buslife" today. In the pic, the Biebs is wearing baggy sweatpants with zippers on the thighs, a bright T-shirt, and a bright hat with matching yellow sneakers. He has a bit of a pout on his face, but it's more of a sexypout or something. It's not exactly sad, but it's a look of "this is going to be my life for months."

Are you excited for the Biebs to go on tour? Do you have tickets already? Sound off in the comments!

Movie Roundup: 'Twilight' Gets a Marathon, and Justin Bieber for 'Book of Mormon'?

Break out the fake fangs and Robert Pattinson T-shirts! Fans of the Twilight Saga will get to seriously geek out when all five movies are screened in one marathon 11-hour sitting this November. And is Justin Bieber leading man material? Book of Mormon (and South Park) creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker think so.

More on the latest new releases, on-set photos, and Jennifer Lawrence's next awards-ready movie below!

Casting News

• Ever since the Broadway hit Book of Mormon triumphed at the 2011 Tony Awards, talks of a big screen adaptation have grown more serious. As if the play's critical and commercial success weren't enough to green-light a film version, creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone offered up another reason: Justin Bieber.

When the South Park creators debuted Mormon in L.A. last week, Parker suggested the young pop star would make the perfect wholesome missionary assigned to a remote African village. "Justin Bieber as Elder Price!" Parker shouted half-seriously. Stone later added, "A young cast would be cool ... but nobody really [is on our radar]. Except for Justin Bieber, of course."

Stone and Parker must be just really big fans of Beiber's work on CSI.

• Bill Paxton is in negotiations to join Tom Cruise in Doug Liman's next film, All You Need Is Kill. The action flick stars Cruise as a military recruit who gets killed in action, but is reborn each day to fight and die again — like Groundhog Day meets Saving Private Ryan... or something.

Coming Soon

• Big news for Twilight fans, Summit announced earlier this week they will be screening "The Twilight Saga Marathon" at select theaters across the country. Fans will be treated to all five Twilight films, culminating in the premiere of Breaking Dawn - Part 2 at 10 PM local time, a full two hours ahead of its nationwide premiere. The marathon starts on November 15th, check your local theaters for information.

• After the first two films combined for more than $1 billion at the box office, it seems elementary to turn Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law's Sherlock Holmes adaptations into a trilogy. According to Law, it's just a matter of finding a window in the actors' jam-packed schedules. "There's certainly talk of it and I know there's a script being played around with, but Downey's a busy boy, and I'm a busy boy so we'll see," Law told Metro UK.

Festivals & Awards

• In a boost to its chances to land a Best Picture nomination, David O. Russell's Silver Linings Playbook won the Audience Award at the Toronto International Film Festival last weekend. According to Collider, 10 of the previous 34 winners have gone on to win Best Picture nods.

• Speaking of Oscar buzz, the Academy Awards are bumping up the nomination announcements. This year, the nominees will be announced January 10, five days earlier than usual. The Academy says the shift is to allow its 6,000 members more time to see the nominated films before the February 24 ceremony, but the real impact of the date change is how it will (if at all) impact the Golden Globes. The Oscar nom date change now precedes the January 13 Golden Globes show, which has the Hollywood Foreign Press Association worried the Oscar nomination presentation will steal its thunder.

Movie Poster of the Day
Lindsay Lohan as Elizabeth Taylor in Liz & Dick

It's been a rough few years for Lindsay Lohan, but she's hoping to launch a comeback by playing one of Hollywood's most iconic actresses. Liz & Dick will premiere on Lifetime in November.

Justin Bieber tickets: Just what the doctor ordered for Doernbecher patient who struggled to survive

Dr. Sandra Iragorri, a pediatric nephrologist at Doernbecher Children's Hospital, is smart about a lot of things. Fluent in English, Spanish and French, she's studied at some of the medical world's prestigious centers of excellence, including Yale University and Great Ormond Street Hospital in London. Until recently, though, the good doctor was at the low end of the learning curve when it came to two topics:

Teen heartthrobs and Twitter.

Her schooling in those fleeting topics started the Friday before last, when she learned that Justin Bieber, the superstar Canadian singer with the coifed hair and baby face befitting his 18 years, has an upcoming, sold-out concert in Portland.

Iragorri felt a sudden pang -- a symptom shared by girls all over the metro area.

She had to get tickets. HAD to!

She didn't intend to doll herself up and cram into the Rose Garden with the squealing masses on Oct. 8, though. Iragorri yearned to secure those precious seats for a patient who spent all summer in Doernbecher's intensive-care unit, enduring pain, boredom, fear, and repeatedly skirting death.

She wanted them for Vicky Ochoa, the 13-year-old with the life-size cardboard cutout of Bieber looming over her bed.

Ochoa, who lives in Southeast Portland, was born with Alagille syndrome, a rare disorder that affects the liver, heart, kidneys and other systems. Surgeons transplanted her liver when she was a baby. This July, she needed a kidney transplant.

Surgery went well, but that night, sutures securing Ochoa's abnormally fragile blood vessels gave way. She hemorrhaged and was rushed back for life-saving surgery.

Recovering in intensive care, she suffered pulmonary hemorrhages, nearly dying again.

She was still intubated and ventilated when a child-life specialist brought an iPad loaded with a Justin Bieber concert to Ochoa's bed, offering a little normalcy during a tough time.

Her penchant for the star Forbes magazine this year named the world's third most powerful celebrity was obvious to anyone who visited Ochoa. His pictures adorned the walls and that cutout of him seemed to watch over her like some sort of cardboard angel.

The specialist fired up the iPad concert. Tubes snaking down Ochoa's throat kept her from singing along but her eyes, Iragorri recalls, brimmed with joy.

Ochoa wasn't out of the woods, though.

Bleeding left a hematoma next to her kidney. She deteriorated again.

"We were thinking we were going to lose her," Iragorri says, "but she pulled through again, through the efforts of so very many talented people ...

"She's clearly a tough little cookie."

Finally, after surviving so many hurdles, Ochoa was nearly ready to head home. That was about the same time Iragorri learned Bieber would be bringing his act to Portland.

"I thought, 'Oh my God! We have to get her tickets. That would be magnificent. That's what we need,'" Iragorri says.

She consulted Cindy Barshay, the child life specialist who worked with Ochoa once she was out of intensive care. How, she wondered, could they get tickets to a sold-out show?

Sitting side-by-side at a computer, Iragorri and Barshay studied Bieber's fan website. The minute they learned the showman is Canadian, Barshay remembers, Iragorri "whipped out her cell phone" and called a friend who works for Canada's Ministry of Communication. The friend's best advice: Tweet Bieber.

"She offered to help me write a tweet message," Iragorri says, "because I had never tweeted anybody."

Before she knew it, Iragorri was asking everyone from nurses on the floor to the hospital's chief to tweet away, asking Twitter followers for any leads on tickets.

"We all took the ball and started running in our different directions to make it happen," Barshay says. She and colleagues tried contacting radio station Z100, the OHSU Doernbecher Foundation and finally, the Children's Cancer Association.

Bev Tollefson, director of the CCA’s Family Support Program, figured she could simply buy tickets, but consulted with the Rose Quarter box office to see which online ticket-sales site could be trusted. When a box-office employee informed her they’d just opened up a bit more seating for the concert, Tollefson headed straight to the Rose Quarter, snapped up two and drove directly to Doernbecher.

Barshay whipped up a Bieber-themed goodbye card and called all Ochoa's doctors, nurses and therapists to her room. She tucked the tickets, for Ochoa and her mother, Verenice Ochoa, deep inside the card, which folded over repeatedly.

Ochoa's medical condition has left her tiny for her age; she looks more like 8 than 13. But her Bieber passion belies her age and stage. She displays it everywhere from the Bieber-themed T-shirt she wears to the purse she carries, a picture of the pop star sewn into the fabric. She loves, she says, "how he does his hair, how he sings, how he dresses. ..."

Surrounded by her caregivers, she slowly unfolded the card. Inside were two slim strips of paper bearing a date, seat numbers and Bieber's name boldly displayed in the middle.

She responded as any young girl might, faced with entry into the first concert of her life and an evening in the presence of -- well, you know, JUSTIN BIEBER!

"I screamed," Ochoa says, still beaming. "I just screamed."

Justin Bieber wants longevity

Justin Bieber doesn't want to be 'just another teen heartthrob' and hopes his forthcoming 'Believe' tour will silence his critics.

The 18-year-old singer kicks off a gruelling world tour later this month and is determined the shows will take him to the 'next level' and silence any of his critics.

He said: 'I don't want to be just another teen heartthrob. I know some people are waiting for me to fail, thinking, 'Oh, his time's up.' Well, I like being the underdog, and this tour is my chance to take things to the next level.

'I've never put in more hours preparing, because I want to be perfect. I want it to be an event.

'I'm with a personal trainer every day. I'm rehearsing every day. I want people to see this tour and go, 'Wow, that was something I didn't expect.' '

The 'Never Say Never' hitmaker is taking inspiration from the late Michael Jackson in his preparations for the 'Believe' tour.

He added in an interview with USA Today newspaper: 'I've been watching videos of his concert tours over and over, he's my inspiration.

'When my team gets together, we're always asking, 'What would Michael do?' '
