Rumors Say Selena Gomez And Justin Bieber Are Getting Engaged, So Get That Jelena Tattoo You Always Wanted!

Over the past few days, rumors started brewing that Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez are getting engaged. Now, before you start weeping uncontrollably at the thought of pure, unadulterated love, let me tell you these rumors all started on BlindGossip.com. That means they’re blind items and they’re still just allegations.

But luckily that doesn’t mean we can’t talk about these allegations, I’m just making sure we’re all on the same page and we’re all aware this isn’t fact. It’s like a step above fan fiction. But a step below a doctor commenting on a celebrity’s health despite never meeting the celebrity.

Earlier this week, BlindGossip.com posted the following blind item:

He is one hot young singer. She is young and beautiful and… well, she doesn’t matter, because young girls everywhere will be envious of her simply because she landed him.

It will all start with a jewelry tease. The paparazzi will snap her with a beautiful rock on her finger, and the couple will act all coy about its meaning. After his fans have been whipped into a complete frenzy, they will announce their engagement. This should all happen within the next couple of weeks.

While a few people guessed it meant Zayn Malik and Perri Edward are engaged, the majority guessed Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez. I let it simmer in my heart for a few days and forgot about it. Until (cue the music) this blind item popped up a few days later.

We have an important message for you to pass along to your teen/tween daughter. When she comes home one day in the near future sobbing because the young man she is crushing on is engaged to someone that isn’t her… we want you to reassure her that everything will be OK.

Tell her that he isn’t really getting married. Tell her that he doesn’t really love his fiancée. Tell her that it’s all a publicity stunt. Tell her that it’s just his team’s desperate attempt to convince people that he’s not gay.

She may not believe you. But at least one of you will know the truth!

Now, I’m not deep enough into the Justin Bieber fanbase to know if gay rumors exist. I mean, I know they exist among man-boys who explore their jealously over his ease with women and his successful career by calling him gay, but I don’t know if any of his real fans think that — or even acknowledge it.

But let’s focus on the guesses. While once again we see One Direction names pop up (this time around it’s Louis Tomlinson and his girlfriend Eleanor Calder), the majority are saying Jelena.

So could it be true. Could Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez be getting faux-engaged for real publicity? Or could they be getting real engaged for real love? (As if real love still exists in Hollywood. That’s a laugh. #RIPArnettPoehler) Or could these be made-up rumors that are actually about no one? That’s the fun of blind items, you never know unless something happens.

While Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez are both ignoring my faxes right now, I’d took it upon myself to do some stalking on their Twitters. I found nothing. No evidence of an engagement, but also no evidence of a not-engagement.

What do we all think? Are we ready to tattoo Jelena metaphorically over our hearts and literally all over bodies? Whatever it is, we just want the best for Selena, after all, we did name her #15 on our 25 Crushable Girls Under 25 list. That means we’re kinda obsessed with her.
