CMA Awards 2012: Is Hunter Hayes country's answer to Justin Bieber?

CMA Awards 2012 had what looked like country’s answer to Justin Bieber when Hunter Hayes performed “Wanted.” The 2012 CMA Awards had a couple of entertainers that could be considered a little bit country and a little bit rock and roll, as Eric Church finally found somewhere to hang his hat, according to USA Today on Nov. 1, 2012.

When Church got up and accepted his CMA Award for “Album of the Year” he said, “I’ve spent a lot of my career wondering where I fit in, too country? Too rock?” He continued with “I want to thank you for giving me somewhere to hang my hat.” As USA Today points out, Church’s head gear wasn’t the traditional country head attire of a cowboy hat, he wore a baseball cap.

Hunter Hayes won "New Artist of the Year Award" and when he got up to accept the award, he sounded very similar Justin Bieber. Hunter has that same type of fast talking and high energy that Bieber brings to the stage.

They also pointed out that the baseball cap seemed to outnumber the cowboy hats this year. Reminiscent of Johnny Cash and his basic black clothes, there was also a lot of black atire present, especially with the men. Most of the baseball caps also seemed to be black at this event that’s billed as country’s biggest night of the year.
