Justin Bieber to mentor on X Factor

Los Angeles - Justin Bieber has signed up to be a mentor on US X Factor.

The Never Say Never hitmaker is assisting LA Reid at the Judges' Houses stage of the competition, where he is helping him pick the best acts from his category - which is rumoured to be the over-25s - to go through to the live shows.

The pair were spotted filming for the talent show in Los Angeles on Monday, and Justin posed for photographers in a white T-shirt and sunglasses before later admitting he'd had a "great day".
'Great day with my guys!'
He wrote on Twitter: "Long day but great day. @LA_Reid @ScooterBraun just like old times! thanks (sic)"

LA previously signed the 18-year-old singing sensation to Island Def Jam during his time as chairman of Island Def Jam Music Group before he quit in March 2011 to join the US X Factor, and the music mogul - who was helped out by Rihanna during last year's show - was delighted to be reunited with Justin and his manager Scooter Braun.

Fellow judge Demi Lovato has enlisted the help of Nick Jonas to help her pick her best contestants to progress to the live shows.

It has been suggested the 20-year-old singer will mentor wannabes aged 12 to 16, with fellow new judge Britney Spears taking charge of those aged between 17 and 24, while Simon Cowell is expected to mentor the groups.

Justin Bieber and One Direction face off at 2012 MTV Video Music Awards

Justin Bieber has one direction for himself right now: Winning the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs).

The 18-year-old "Boyfriend" singer adopted the #votebieber Twitter hashtag introduced (along with #voteonedirection) by the VMAs to pit Best Pop Video nominees "Boyfriend" and One Direction's "What Makes You Beautiful" against one another.

Thanks to almost six million Beliebers and Directioners, "Most Share-Worthy Video" is currently trending on Twitter, though the winner is still too close to call.

But Bieber doesn't just have his eye on taking the VMAs prize from One Direction, he also wants to be included on the show's lineup alongside them.

"i would perform. always ready. #vmas ##votebieber" Biebz tweeted yesterday morning.

The Ontario native has only ever performed at the VMAs once, back in 2010 when he sang a medley of hits from his debut album "My World 2.0" including "U Smile," "Baby" and "Somebody to Love." That year he also went on to win Best New Artist for "Baby."

Besides his nod for Best Pop Video, Bieber's "Boyfriend" will go head to head with fellow Canadian musician Drake's "Take Care" in the Best Male Video category (the former won the same category last year for "U Smile").

The 2012 MVMA awards air live on Sept. 6.

Justin Bieber cozies up to fans while Selena works

Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez went separate ways again Tuesday, each dealing with work-related issues. Justin showed up for work, the day after filming a guest segment for The X Factor USA, and encountered a group of fans in the parking lot. A major photo session followed, as cell phones captured the hugs, the cuddles and Justin Bieber making faces, reports Daily Mail, as the California sun poured down.
we need you help:http://www.mtv.com/ontv/vma/2012/most-share-worthy-video/ vote justin bieber.
Keeping his fans wild about him is part of Justin’s work schedule, so he was glad to comply. He was all smiles, anyway, hugging a fan with pink hair, throwing his arm around another with a purple shirt and practically getting bowled over by a super-enthusiastic fan in short-shorts, who threw both her arms around his neck. His usual bodyguard was there to help gently peel her off.
Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez both have the touch with teen-aged fans, but recently they have done more of the face-hiding routine. So it is good to see the Biebs out there relating to the Beliebers. He wore a white tee, gray sweats, and his favorite red trainers.

Meanwhile, Selena Gomez is back in her tiny candy striper uniform of the set of Parental Guidance Suggested. Or Feed the Dog. The film is called by both titles. But Selena has worn this costume before. Yesterday could have been a retake, or a new hospital scene. Most real candy stripers will notice that the movie uniform is shorter, tighter and sexier than the ones in real life. That’s show biz. Selena’s character is supposed to be the “most beautiful girl in the world”, so she needs to look the part, complete with cell phone in hand.

Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez like to please their fans. But sometimes they have to be all business. And other times, they might just like to be alone.

Justin Bieber, stars rock Fashion's Night Out video

Justin Bieber has an invitation for you.

"You bring your friends. I'll bring my friends. We can totally hang out."

He wants you to join him for Fashion's Night Out on Sept. 6.

Bieber and stars including Darren Criss, Victoria Beckham, Julie Bowen, Solange Knowles, Jessica Pare, Usher, Hailee Steinfeld, Taylor Swift, Kristen Wiig and Olivia Wilde are all helping to promote the shopping night and the new FNO Collection in a (cute) new video. From the special FNO collection, 40% of the proceeds benefit the New York City AIDS Fund in the New York Community Trust.

Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber break up, Chanel Celaya new chick maybe.

(ThyBlackMan.com) Well Pop Star Justin Bieber is a real ladies man, apparently. He has millions of teen girls vying for his attention, even if it only means a notice or follow on Twitter. Of course, everybody knows the Biebs is taken, but girls can still dream.

One young woman got the chance to get up close and very personal with the young singer and even got to kiss him—several times. It isn’t Selena Gomez. It was another gorgeous 20-year-old named Chanel Celaya. She is the woman who co-stars in Justin Bieber short film for his song, “As Long As You Love  Me.”

Model Chanel Celaya has nothing but great things to say about Justin Bieber. The model and aspiring actress gushes, “He did smell very good.” It wasn’t just his body that smelled great.

Apparently, Justin Bieber wanted the kissing scenes to go well and took great care in making sure Chanel Celaya enjoyed the kissing. “He definitely had minty fresh breath,” says the lucky lady.
It wasn’t just his great breath and fabulous scent that made Chanel Celaya a fan. She explains how attentive he was to her in general, “If I was standing off to the side, he was like ‘Get over here. Come talk to us!’” Aww! How sweet. He even took the time to get to know her a little and asked about her favorite color and things of that matter.

Beliebers, Jelenators and Selenators are pretty dedicated groups of fans. Fortunately, for Chanel  Celaya, she did not get lambasted for making out with Justin Bieber. Whew! Fans are very possessive of the Biebs and tend to get a little irritated when he kisses other ladies. In fact, she got a ton of support and a major boost in popularity. That would be the Justin Bieber-effect.

Chanel  Celaya has no intentions of trying to land Justin Bieber for herself. She shoots down any innuendos there was more between them and says, “That’s a no-no! He’s got a girlfriend. You don’t do that.” Selena Gomez has nothing to worry about. Yes Selena Gomez is his number 1# fan and lady. We also hear Selena Gomez is ready to hit the studio again with Justin Bieber by her side. This darling couple is what is right about young hollywood today. Selena Gomez a queen along side the king of pop Justin Bieber.

Justin Bieber Sparks Controversy Because of 'Free Gas' Not Selena Gomez

Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez only just lately created a crush of controversy over the status of their romantic relationship, with break-up buzz polluting the gossip columns and so-called pundits predicting Jelena's demise. Of course, the couple appears to be as together as ever. However the "Boyfriend" singer recently caused another sort of hullabaloo--and it wasn't because he was getting touchy-feely with a Gomez doppelgänger in a music video.

The Biebs got a big slap on the wrist by the Aboriginal Peoples in Canada when he was quoted as telling Rolling Stone magazine, "I'm actually part Indian. I think Intuit or something? I'm enough percent that in Canada I can get free gas." (They're apparently actually not entitled to the liquid gold.) The comment was obviously a random one from the mouth of Bieber, who probably couldn't care less about filling up his Batmobile for free--his bank account can handle any market increases. He seemed to simply be trying to make the point, albeit incorrectly, that he has legit Indian blood.

But the story doesn't stop there. Now, the Aboriginal group is retracting their spanking of the pop sensation and subbing in nothing but gold stars, saying he "has nothing to apologize for." Talk about a complete 180! Someone got smart, it seems, and decided the Ottawa-based organization could perhaps use Bieber's remarks to their benefit and to generate some good PR. Looks like their strategy could be working.

"Justin Bieber has done us a favor," said The Congress of Aboriginal Peoples' national chief Betty Ann Lavallee, as Celebuzz reports. "These kind of remarks are another example of what [we] struggle with every day... It promotes the misconception that we are somehow getting a free ride. This simply is not the case..." She later confirmed, "We are not angry [at Bieber]... I commend the young man, in a way. He acknowledged his heritage. He opened up."

And while Lavallee would love to have a "role model" like Bieber join in a national discussion to educate people and debunk the myths and the misunderstandings about Aboriginal people, he may already be gassed out on this situation and have had his fill of the politics.

Justin Bieber to cameo on 'The Simpsons'

Justin Bieber has just completed vocals on his latest project: A guest spot on The Simpsons. The 18-year-old singer, who wasn’t born when the animated Fox comedy launched, tweeted this afternoon: “just did a voice over for the SIMPSONS!!! #swaggy.” Though the tweet appears to have since been deleted, Simpsons exec producer Al Jean confirms to EW that Bieber will indeed play himself in an upcoming episode. How exactly does he fit into the story? “He tries to get into a talent show that Bart is playing piano in and they won’t admit him,” says Jean, quipping: “Draw your own conclusions.”

Don’t expect a boatload of Bieber, though. “It’s a cameo,” notes Jean, “but all of his fans should watch every minute of the show, before and after he’s on.”

The episode, titled “The Fabulous Faker Boy,” is slated to air in 2013 as part of the 24th season, which kicks off Sept. 30 on Fox. Other upcoming high-profile guests this season include Edward Norton, Steve Carell, Zooey Deschanel, Anne Hathaway, and Natalie Portman.

Cody Simpson Joins Justin Bieber's Tour After Big Time Rush Shows

Back to school? More like: back to touring. Simpson tells MTV News that he'll play a week of shows on Believe tour.

Cody Simpson isn't living the life of a normal 15-year-old. Instead of spending his summer gearing up for the next school year, Simpson has been touring the country as the opening act on Big Time Rush's 60-day North American tour. Wrapping up on September 21st, Cody's not taking any time off before the release of his debut album — he's about to hit the road with Justin Bieber.

http://www.mtv.com/videos/news/826457/cody-simpson-describes-justin-bieber-tour.jhtml

MTV News caught up with Simpson in New York on Wednesday (August 16) where he shared his excitement of joining the Believe tour, which kicks off September 29th, and also features Carly Rae Jepsen.

"I'm on this tour until, like the end of September and then Bieber actually asked me to join him for the first week of his tour so I'm going to start in Vegas with him and do a couple of shows on the West coast around the time of my album," Simpson said of joining the sold-out concert. "And then pretty much go off by myself and promote it and sing and just keep singing. I think I'm going to Europe in November, so that should be fun."

Much like Bieber, Simpson was discovered on YouTube back in 2009 and is also signed with Bieber's manager, Scooter Braun. Now, even though their musical style has been compared from time to time, Simpson reveals there is no competition between the two, in fact, they have actually been in the studio together several times working on new material.

"He's a good mate of mine, we've been in the studio a couple of times together," Simpson said. "He hits me up from time to time like, 'I got an idea for you, come in we'll write a song and stuff.' It's just good to have musical relationships with people like that. It's good to learn from artists like that who are in similar positions as you are, but have been doing it for a little longer."

Yet, fans shouldn't get their hopes up because it doesn't look like a Simpson/Bieber collaboration will appear on the Australian singer's upcoming debut album, Paradise, which will be released October 2nd.

"Not on this album, but in the future, yeah who knows what will happen," Simpson said about releasing a Bieber track. "We are just waiting for the right time to do a song. We don't just want to put out a song because we can, you want to make sure it's the right song and the right time. I want to really introduce myself properly and then come together and release something later on in my career."

Barack Obama has more Klout than Justin Bieber

Until recently, Justin Bieber was more influential than Barack Obama — at least in the world of Klout, the controversial Web startup that claims to measure people’s online influence using an algorithm.

Not any more.

Klout said on Tuesday it has overhauled its Website and rejigged its algorithms, mostly by pulling in data from Wikipedia entries, to better reflect a person’s status in the real world.

The move toward calculating offline influence is a tricky but expected step for a company that divides opinion, and gets tongues wagging, like practically no other in Silicon Valley.

Since 2008, the firm has tagged social media users with a single number, between 1 and 100, intended to measure their influence. The Klout Score, as it is known, is now based on 400 variables, including how many Twitter followers someone has, and how often or likely it is for their Twitter or Facebook posts to get re-circulated.

As well as changing the algorithm, chief executive Joe Fernandez said, Klout also now analyses LinkedIn profiles, so a user who describes themselves as a company “vice president” or other high-level title may find their Klout score boosted.

The overhaul, which began in January, was part of the company’s effort to address critics who pointed to Bieber as a prime example of why quantifying online influence was, at best, irrelevant. The teenage pop singer, with his army of 26 million Twitter followers who retweet his every word, had a Klout score that dwarfed that of the U.S. president.

“We heard the common complaint, ’Klout’s interesting, but what about people who are influential in the real world?’” Fernandez said one recent morning in his company’s cavernous underground office in San Francisco.

But Fernandez has stuck to his belief that personal influence, that intangible currency of social networks, can be crunched into a number.

As a result of the new algorithm — which takes into account the number of references in a person’s Wikipedia page — President Obama’s Klout score has finally topped Beiber’s, four years after Klout launched, Fernandez said.

“Barack Obama is hugely important,” Fernandez said, deadpan. “He’s referenced everywhere, and that gives him a higher score.”

The social media analytics company now sucks in 12 billion bits of data every day from social networks including Facebook, Google Plus and Tumblr, up from 1 billion just months ago. As part of the revamp, most users will see a bump in their scores, according to Fernandez.

Klout, which sells insights about Web users to companies, has caught the attention of major advertisers including carmakers such as GM’s Chevrolet which want to identify influential people tweeting about cars, and market to them directly.

Justin Bieber Congratulates Carly Rae Jepsen After Hearing Her New Album 'Kiss'

The 'Good Time' singer has also unveiled the album artwork for her upcoming release.

Justin Bieber has praised Carly Rae Jepsen for her debut album and told the Canadian singer-songwriter she has done a "great job" on the record.

The 'Call Me Maybe' singer is preparing to launch her breakthrough album 'Kiss' next month, after being signed to Justin's record label Schoolboy Records earlier this year, and recently wrapped work on the record ahead of it's release.

"Dinner in NYC! Celebrating the completion of my record!" Carly tweeted to confirm the album is now ready. "Just adding some lipstick. #KISS SEPT18th.

"@carlyraejepsen listened to your album today at rehearsal with @scooterbraun and the crew," Justin Bieber posted last night (14th August). "GREAT JOB! #KISS."

The singer recently joined indie-pop act Owl City on his new single 'Good Time', which is currently proving a huge success on the US Billboard Hot 100.

'Cool and Funny' Justin Bieber Splashes Out On His Entourage

'Baby' singer showers gifts on his security guys

Justin Bieber may have had a strange year, being allegedly involved in scraps with photographers and having a pop at royalty, but we'll just put that down to growing up after hearing this story about Biebs.

Justin went on a shopping trip at American Apparel, but instead of just updating his own wardrobe he treated his security guards, according to HollywoodLife.com

The website spoke to a sales clerk who told them how on August 11, Justin and his bodyguard showed up at the store in Studio City, California, and Justin bought some new gear, then made sure that his bodyguards weren't left looking shabby by comparison!

According to the website, Shelley, the sales clerk who personally helped Justin, said Justin was really nice, branding the popster: “cool and sweet.”

However according to Shelley he didn't hang about, she said: “He was in and out [of the store] quickly…He bought himself a couple of basic T-shirts, and he even bought his bodyguard a couple of shirts…He spent around $200.”

However despite Justin's flying visit Shelley had time to get the measure of Canada's one man pop phenomenon, adding:  “He had a good personality, and he was funny, it was a pleasure helping him and his security.”

Psy to leave for Los Angeles this week to meet with Justin Bieber

After receiving a love call from international pop sensation Justin Bieber, Psy will be meeting with the young star’s agency later this week.

Psy’s representatives informed OSEN through a phone conversation on August 13th, “Psy will be heading to LA August 15th to meet with Justin Bieber’s representatives. As of now, we are unsure as to what kind of conversation will take place between the two parties.”

According to a representative in the local area, Justin Bieber will be personally present to greet Psy when he lands in Los Angeles. Though it is unsure as to what kind of topics the two parties will be discussing, there is potential for an extremely positive outcome if Justin Bieber himself is present at the meetings.

Meanwhile, Psy’s new song “Gangnam Style” has gone viral online, and it has played a big part in Justin Bieber’s representatives reaching out to Psy. The song is not only a big hit in Korea but all over the world, and videos parodying the ‘horse dance’ in the MV are surfacing all over the internet. The MV was also featured in famous US media outlets such as CNN, LA Times, Wall Street Journal, Huffington Post, and others.

In related news, Psy also recently completed his ‘Summer Standing’ show for 30,000 of his fans.

Bieber film to come out next year?

Justin Bieber's big screen acting debut could hit cinemas next year, Mark Wahlberg has revealed.
The Canadian pop superstar is set to work on an upcoming basketball-themed film alongside Mark, who lavished praise on the singer.

When asked if the movie could be complete by next year, Mark told E!: "Possibly, if I have anything to do with it."

He added: "We got a first draft. They did an edit on the script and got to make some changes and do a little bit of rewrite and polish but I've been in contact with (Justin's) managers and the studio a lot. We just want to make it great and we're getting there."

Justin - who has previously appeared as a troubled teen in CSI: Crime Scene Investigation - will play a basketball player in the movie.

Mark said: "I just think personally we have a great idea... He's a great athlete... he wants to have success in the movie world and acting as well.

"He's focused and patient about finding the right particular part, working with the right people and I think he'd do a great job. I think we have good chemistry and like I said he's right for this particular part and it's an idea we've had for a while."

Justin Bieber spotted sporting Kiwi fashion (+video)

Pop sensation Justin Bieber has been spotted walking the streets of LA wearing New Zealand streetwear label, Jamstreet.

The black and white handmade basketball jersey is emblazoned with the words 'New Zealand' and the number 64. The 18-year-old has teamed the over-sized singlet with camouflage shorts, red trainers, a Bulls cap, shades and a couple of gold chains as he hangs out with his celebrity girlfriend Selena Gomez.

Jamstreet co-founder and designer, Rob Fisher, said he gave the jersey to his friend, ZM radio host, Pauline Gillespie, asking her to pass it on to the pop star when she interviewed him in Auckland last month.

In a chat with E!, the singer said explained the origin and root of the videos meaning. This video, I wanted it to be a little bit more edgy and have that appeal,” he said. But I also wanted it to make sense with the song. And I feel kind of like the whole Romeo and Juliet’ story and how the dad didnt want [me] to be with the daughter, I just thought that was the perfect [match for the lyrics] Ill be your silver, Ill be your gold.’ Ill do anything for you to be my girl.

Beliebers, are you swooning at that swagtastic explanation? That Biebs is a true romantic.
Hes also been bitten by the acting bug.
I hope to do some more acting. Ive only done a few things like CSI,’ but I really want to do some more acting,” he confessed. Mark Wahlberg and I, weve been working on a script for a long time now… I mean its like a little basketball concept.
Oh the long-gestating Mark Wahlberg basketball movie. Yo, Marky Mark, youre a big deal in Hollywood. Get that thing made, pronto. Youre A-list. Biebs is A-list. Whats the hold up, son?
The Biebs will pursue acting, but right now, his dance card is filled with a huge tour set for September. Despite being in high demand, The Biebs tries to make time for low-key stuff with peeps that he loves.
Its just about keeping close family around and getting that time for yourself and to really have alone time and hang out with your friends and stuff like that,” he said.
